Nina Gygax
started playing the violin at the age of
eight changing to the viola three years
later. She played in various school-
and youth-orchestras.
Gaining her diploma from the
"Newark School of Violinmaking" in
England, she furthered her education
in a restoration workshop in Helsinki.
Returning to England she carried out
restorations for various workshops.

Neil S. Johnson
worked as a reproduction artist in a
textile studio. His interest for stringed
musical instruments, however, com-
pelled him to change career and attend
the "Newark School of Violinmaking".
On completion of the course, he worked
as a restorer in Finland. Returning to
the UK, he ran a violin workshop in
Blackburn.
